Kindness is lauded by the society. We feel very heartened when we read about occasional acts of selflessness by strangers towards someone in need and people love these stories.
In most corporations however, kindness is just a passing thought. It doesn't bring in revenue, productivity improvement, or cash flow, at least not directly. So corporations continue to promote people who bring in results at the expense of other people's mental health and psychological wellbeing.
There will come a day when capability is the baseline and the culture of kindness is the principle competitive edge of a company.
