The Dial Story

While watching a WWII flick on TV, there was a scene where an officer walked past a wall clock after a debrief. I was immediately astounded by the unique, charming and nostalgic look of what caught my eye. Needless to say, I went about my sketches right away.
I'm a sucker for textured dials, maybe it's due to my love for photography. I love how different surfaces and structures play with light to yield amazing mood and images.
Combining the vintage linen pattern with the sandwich dial texture, the dial looks simple from afar but upon closer inspection, the interesting combo makes for great macro photography. I hope that you like it too!

It feels interesting how even small design details can carry a deeper story about identity and creativity. When I was juggling deadlines, I was using do my finance assignment and trying to organize my study time better, so the idea of turning chaos into something structured really connected with me. It reminded me that both design and studying improve when you give meaning to the process instead of rushing through it.
