Our favourite Micro Mondays from 2022
"GANE’s second release takes an ornamental approach to the wristwatch. The GANE Type D is a great choice for anyone wanting something a little bit different."
MICRO MONDAYS: Gane Watches takes on minimalist design with the Type C
"With multiple microbrands focusing on either divers or field watches, GANE puts another option on the table that I for one am happy to see."
Hands-On With the GANE C1 Sandy Salmon
"Well-machined with lovely finishing, the 38mm × 45mm 316L stainless steel case has a fantastic vintage-inspired tonneau shape. The angled lugs and beautifully polished chamfer add a lot of depth and character to the overall profile."
"Some brands like to say their watches are vintage-inspired, but this Type C takes that to a whole other level, using sundials as an inspiration for its dial layout—how’s 100BC for vintage. The dial is made up of a two-piece construction consisting of a base plate that is horizontally brushed and a radial brushed outer ring that sits on top and houses the CNC milled sundialesque hour markers."
Hands-On Watch Review of the Gane Type C1
"I can see the potential arguments against this watch, its unconventional mix of influences won’t appeal to everyone. However, all that pales in comparison to the fact I’ve enjoyed my time with it. It’s quirky and full of personality, which is not always the case with vintage inspired microbrand watches."
"There are some watchmakers out there that positively exude old school cool and, chief amongst them, is GANE and their awesome line up of vintage-inspired, Art Deco-esque timepieces. If you’ve been searching for the sort of watch that Don Draper may well wear, you can call off the search as you’ve just found the prime candidate."
"I absolutely love the dial of the Type C. For one, it’s layered, giving the watch depth. I like the grooved indices, which reminds me of Panerai’s sandwich dials (although it’s meant to resemble sundials)."
GANE Watches First Release The Type C
"A very well executed first release from the brand GANE Watches. The owner of the brand has an artistic background as well as a career in engineering and when you think about it, that might be the perfect combination for a watch designer."
GANE Watches: Art On The Wrist
"GANE proves that careful thought and meaningful design can be expressed in the most pure of aesthetics."
"One of the key things that attracted me to this watch was the choice to use a brick-style bracelet. I’ve been in love with this style of bracelet since playing with my dad’s vintage Constellation as a kid and it’s criminally underused in modern watches."
GANE WATCHES SHINES WITH ITS FIRST RELEASE: The Type C Automatic
"The result is a lineup of three beautifully crafted and visually distinctive watches in the Type C line, each with a dial that has its own unique personality and story to tell. Why name his first watch the Type C? It all comes back to music — C is the first note on the musical scale, so what better note to usher in a new brand?"
GANE Watches - Type C2 Automatic Brushed Blue
"Speaking of the bracelet, that is an impressive bracelet for the cost. It is a true, articulated 5-link bracelet. It uses friction pins (which I honestly prefer over screws), so easy to size when it arrived."
Thinking About Giving This One Away! Never Heard Of Gane Watches, But For About $500, This Is Great!
"It's just a really nice warmth on the dial and cool on the steel...just a very well, thought-out watch...it's simple but dynamic enough without being boring."
GANE Watch, Type C2. A New, Cool Blue Beauty
"This whole watch is just gorgeous. I think it's a beautiful watch. Want something different? There you go, this is different for you."
GANE Watches C3 Automatic Unboxing & Review
"You cannot go wrong with the C3. It is a good looking watch and we cannot get away from the steely and cold look"
How An Arnold Schwarzenegger YouTube Video Inspired Singapore’s Newest Watch Microbrand
"For what you get, they’re very well priced and since this article is appearing over the Christmas weekend, it might be worth considering if you’re shopping very belatedly for a special someone."
New Singapore Microbrand Gane Rocks Vintage-Inspired Chic
"Yet, at the same time, one also notices unusual touches to the foundational aesthetic, such as the two-part dials with contrast brushed satin finish (radial brush on the outer ring and straight on the main dial), grooved hour markers, and an overall less-is-more approach that conveys a minimalistic and even Zen-like spirit.."
"GANE watches are unique in the independent watch space and will appeal to both serious watch enthusiasts and new watch collectors."
"Visually upon seeing the Type D3 watch, the case to dial ratio shows a great balance. The watch seems a little thick, and the strap very chunky, but it fills my slim wrist well, helped by its light weight.
Looking at the dial, it's immediately a color that draws you in, but more exciting, even small movements change the colors from dark to light, blueish to more purple, it's quite extraordinary in the level of changes.
Then looking in detail at the dial, the 'linen' effect shows through. Depending on the angle, sometimes it seems horizontal, at others, clearly horizontal and vertical.
Legibility changes with the color changes, and at times the hands seem to be dark grey or black, not the chrome they really are, but reading the time is mostly easy, important for a watch. Overall, it's a very satisfying watch for its comfort and great looks that change with the smallest of movements!
Thank you Ray and good luck with your future projects."
"Loving my GANE Type D1 Ember - something very satisfying in the clarity of the watch, simple yet striking.
Subtle texturing on the dial, great autumnal coloring and lovely finishing on the case - for me, this punches hard. I bought the watch because it hits the right notes for me, clarity, but deceptive in its simplicity.
Worn with pride in London and Belfast."
"Gorgeous watches! Just got one for myself. Definitely worth much more than what I paid. Very well executed with quality materials and design. The Miyota movement gives a peace of mind for its workhorse credentials and reliability."
"The wait is over, my GANE TYPE D watch trio set has finally arrived for my personal collection, and the GANE team certainly did not disappoint!
From start to finish I was super impressed, between the heavy duty wooden presentation boxes to the beautiful watches that were held in each.
The attention to detail is what we really attracted me, I love the dial finishes, the exhibition case backs, and especially the heavy duty weight they all had.
GANES WATCHES is a micro brand I will stand by, and recommend to clients, friends and watch lovers all over!"

"The moment I opened it up, I was intrigued. The whole packaging and the extra leather strap are great. I've got to say the C3 has a strong vintage vibe aesthetically, especially with the choice of case and bracelet. But what I love is how the dial was being done up."
"I picked up the blue GANE Type C2 a couple weeks ago after finding GANE on Instagram. It exceeded my expectations. The finishing is stunning in person and the design is eye catching but subdued."
"GANE watch Type C1 on leather is a sleek and well designed watch. It feels good and comfortable when I'm wearing it. It gives a sense of style, quality and excellence."
"I have just received the GANE Type C1 on bracelet and it is a perfect fit! I just want to say thank you for creating this masterpiece!"

"I picked the C2 Brushed Blue on bracelet for myself after some consideration among the three variations. Having worn it for some time, I'm very happy with my choice. The blue is brilliant! The sundial idea for the face is creative. I truly like the design of the lampshade on the caseback too, it adds a personal touch to the watch. The entire watch gives a rugged yet classy vibe, and I wear it from work to weekends. It is truly a beautiful addition to my wardrobe. All the best to Ganewatches!!"
"Just bought C2 Automatic Brushed Blue on Leather Strap from GANE. It looks very much as I expected, a beautiful piece of steel casing watch that is aesthetically enhanced by the softer and nicely toned leather strap. The hands are clearly shown clearly and contrasted nicely against the blue background and the automatic system makes it so much easier to read and manage. Hence overall a simple and nice edgy watch was what I was looking for and hoping and in short, it meets my expectations and definitely it reaffirms my support for local designers in Singapore, and looking forward for more interesting and great looking watches to match different occasions and moods."
"Excellent watch. Looks even better in person. Love the personalized message from Ray. Cheers!"
"GANE Type C1 is well within expectations and I love the dial and case! The weight, balance, and wrist presence are great too. I'm trying out all the fun 20mm straps I have because it looks good on everything! The salmon color and the dial work are so beautiful in person."
