Just as your family member is recovering from a serious illness, another one is down with a life threatening one. Just as you're about to get that leadership position in a new department, the department closes down. Just as you launched a new business with the hopes of succeeding immediately, setbacks after setbacks hit you with no light in sight in the near term. Just as we're preparing for overseas travel after putting the Delta variant under control, the Omicron variant rear its ugly head. It's hard to be positive when unforeseen circumstances hit us again and again. But not when we expect the unexpected. Not when we're hopeful but prepared. Not just when we have grit, but that extra grit for an extended period of time when patience is a much needed trait to have.
